Half A
Sixpence QUEEN'S THEATRE Billet Lane, Hornchurch, Essex Thursday 20th - Saturday 22nd July 2006 Evenings 8.00pm, Saturday matinee 4.00pm Music & Lyrics by David Heneker Book by Beverley Cross Based on the novel "Kipps" by H.G. Wells Artwork by Jeff Short
Half a Sixpence was a hugely enjoyable show for the cast and the audiences all appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves - many saying it was our best yet!! Sadly, ticket sales couldn't match the quality of the show, as we only sold around 85%. This was very disappointing for the group, but we are all still hugely proud of the show! See the Cast photos by clicking here See the Front of House photos by clicking here Half A Sixpence revolves around Arthur Kipps, an orphan and a draper's apprentice in London at the turn of the century. He inherits a fortune and becomes engaged to an upper-class girl. He breaks this engagement to marry a working-class girl and loses his money in a crooked business scheme. David Heneker's score includes many famous numbers such as:
If
The Rain's Got To Fall • Money To Burn • Half A Sixpence • Flash, Bang,
Wallop! • Economy • The Party's On The House
